Football has gone mad?

Over a decade ago Man Utd bought Roy Keane for £3.75 million, Blackburn got Chris Sutton for £5 million and Liverpool purchased Stan Collymore for £7million. Take a look at this summer's transfers and the comparison looks ridiculous.
I understand the value of money increases but clubs are paying well over the odds for players who have under performed or who are not capable of playing in the Premiership.
There are a number of reasons why clubs are paying these values. The revenue from television deals has increased due to more live coverage from broadcasters Sky and Setanta. This allows clubs to price their players over the market value.
The pressures of modern day football has also increased and attracting the best players has become a tougher task for smaller Premiership teams. Surely, though, at some stage a more sensible approach will have to be adopted. Eventually the cash injection will burst and then where will that leave our beautiful game?
So far, this summer's three worst buys have to be Harewood, Helguson and Koumas.
Why do Villa need Harewood? A player who was very disappointing last season and has been in the past very over-rated due to one good season at West Ham. He is too similar to John Carew who is much better player so I can't see him playing regularly. So, O'Neill has bought a reserve player for £3.7 million which I believe is O'Neill's first bit of bad business at Villa Park.
Koumas for £5.5 million is another ridiculous price. Very good in the Championship but has been in the Premiership before and found the going tough. There is al ot of responsibility and pressure on his shoulders. It is certain to be another tough season for the Latics.
Yesterday, it was announced Helguson was joining Bolton for a undisclosed fee. Whatever that is it will surely be too much! Bolton are going in the wrong direction - recruiting a lot of ageing players and havent really bought wisely. Sammy Lee said that Helguson scores goals at vital times, I can't remember any! If Anelka leaves they will be in further trouble.
There are others including Kieran Richardson (£5.5 million to Sunderland) and Diomansy Kamara to Fulham(£6 million). In fact, the list goes on and on and on.... Birmingham have also joined in the fun by announcing the possible signing of Mido from Spurs for £6 million! All I can say is Mi doh, doh, doh!!!

ANY CLUB WHO PAID UNMERITED FEE ON A PLAYER KNOWS THE REASON BEHIND THAT DECISIONS ABOUT SUCH.THEY MUST HAVE SEEN WHAT THEY WANTS IN THAT PARTICULAR PLAYER,LIKE THE CASE OF Harewood WHOM VILLA BROUGHT AT DISPITE very disappointing last season and has been in the past very over-rated due to one good season at West Ham
